A new way to send your mail!
A self-mailer is a USPS mail item that doesn’t require an envelope. Instead, the material is folded and sealed for direct mailing, with the postage, address, and return address printed on the exterior. Self-mailers are popular for sending promotional content, newsletters, and other communications.
We offer two sizes for self-mailers:11x17 and 8.5x11. These are typically folded as a bifold and sealed with tabs to meet USPS mailing requirements.
Correctly orientating your mail
When designing a bi-fold self-mailer, the orientation of the content on both pages is essential to avoid misalignment or upside-down elements once folded.
If your design is entirely portrait in our designer there is no need to worry. Everything should be oriented correctly.
However, if you intend to use a landscape design, you will need to consider how the document looks when folded. The content on the front and back page should be inversed in their direction in order for them to match up when folded.
It can help to visualise this on a piece of paper. Take any letter rotate it to your intended design layout and write "this way up" and an arrow pointing to the correct way up. Also do this on the back of the page. Finally, fold the letter in half and review the results.
If the design is the right way up then proceed! However, if the design is the wrong way up you may need to inverse the rotation by 180.
