Companies House ProspectFeed

The Companies House ProspectFeed automatically captures information about newly registered UK businesses, helping you identify and reach out to potential customers in your target market.

What is the Companies House ProspectFeed?

ProspectFeed connects directly to the Companies House API and pulls data on businesses registered within the last 30 days, which you can filter by industry segment (SIC Code) and location.

Stannp's ProspectFeed updates every night, at midnight, and delivers fresh new data to your recipient groups by 06:00 UTC every day.

How do I gain access to the Stannp.com Companies House ProspectFeed?

The Companies House Data Feed is available to UK customers with the following plans:

  • Growth tier customers with the ProspectFeed add-on (£25/month)
  • Premium tier customers (included in plan)

What information is available through the Stannp.com ProspectFeed?

For each newly registered business, the feed captures:

  • Director name
  • Company registered address
  • Industry segment(s) served – SIC code

You can customise which businesses appear in your ProspectFeed by applying your desired filter selections. Select single filter options or combine these to refine your ProspectFeed results:

      • Industry (SIC codes) Choose one or multiple Standard Industrial Classification codes to target specific business types.
      • Location (City/Town/Postcode) Select one or multiple geographic areas using our search functionality.

      Creating your Companies House ProspectFeed

When you first create your feed, we immediately import historical data based on your chosen frequency, so you can get started immediately:

      • Daily feed: Previous 1 day of registrations
      • Weekly feed: Previous 7 days of registrations
      • Monthly feed: Previous 30 days of registrations

      Step by step setup:

Before getting started with your first ProspectFeed, you'll need to accept our Data Services agreement.

Step 1: Choose where your data goes

Select a recipient group to store your business data:

      • Create a new recipient group – Give it a clear, descriptive name
      • Use an existing group – Add data to a group you've already set up

      Step 2: Set your filters

Define which businesses you want to capture:

      • SIC codes – Select industries that match your target market
      • Location – Choose cities, towns, or postcodes where you want to find customers

As you make selections, you'll see a preview showing how many businesses matched your criteria in the last 30 days, plus a sample of the first 5 results.

      Step 3: Configure your feed

      Review your settings and:

      • Choose how often the feed runs – Daily, weekly, or monthly
      • Activate or deactivate the feed – Decide whether it should start running immediately

The preview will update to show how many businesses match your criteria for your chosen frequency.

      Step 4: Save and launch

      You have two options:

      Save

      • If active and you have the right subscription, your recipient group populates immediately
      • If inactive, the feed is saved but no data is added yet
      • If you need to upgrade, we'll guide you through the process

      Save and create automation

      • Same behaviour as above, plus you're taken directly to create a new automation
      • Your recipient group is pre-selected, ready for you to set up outreach

      Managing your data feeds

From the 'Data Feeds' area of your Stannp.com account you can:

Create a new data feed -Set up additional feeds with different filters and frequencies.

View and manage existing feeds - See all your configured feeds in one place.

      For each feed, you can:

      • Configure – Edit filters, frequency, and activation status
      • View recipients – See all businesses the feed has captured
      • View pulls – Review each individual data pull and its results
      • Modify data feeds - Pause, reactivate, and modify existing data feeds
      • Delete – Remove a feed you no longer need

      What you can change:

      • Add or remove SIC codes
      • Add or remove locations
      • Change frequency (daily/weekly/monthly)
      • Activate or deactivate the feed

      Important to know:

      • Adding or editing filters will only capture data from the next scheduled run onwards
      • Removing filters doesn't delete previously collected data

      Using your data

      Accessing collected businesses

Your data feed populates a recipient group that you can access:
      • From the Data Feeds page (view all recipients or individual pulls)
      • Through your Recipient Groups section
      • When creating or managing Automations

      Automating your outreach

Connect your data feed to Automations to automatically send mail to newly registered businesses. When setting up a new feed, you can create an automation directly – we'll automatically link it to your feed's recipient group.

      Things to be aware of

      Preview counts may vary

The number of results shown during setup might differ slightly from your actual recipient group. This happens because our fuzzy search [1] is designed to be flexible with postcode matching.

Example: Searching for "Bath" might show "Bathgate" results in the preview, but only exact matches will appear in your final group.

      Feed naming

Currently, feeds are identified by their recipient group name rather than having their own custom name. If you use multiple feeds with the same recipient group, this can be confusing.

      Data retention

There's currently no automatic deletion of old data from your recipient groups.

[1] A fuzzy search is a technique that uses search algorithms to find strings that match patterns approximately. It's particularly useful for helping users find webpages without having to know exactly what they're looking for or how a word is spelled.
